Online Courses and Talks – Terms and Conditions
Once a booking has been made for an online course/talk either via the website or via email, you will receive a message confirming your enrolment and payment, along with the course/talk details. If you have not received a confirmation within 72 hours (Monday to Friday) of your booking, please message me.
Payment for online courses and talks must be done before the course/talk starts. Payment can be made on the website (Stripe), or by cheque, bank transfer, or with a Stripe payment link.
Cancellation and refund.
- Cancelling enrolment to a full course: if the cancellation request is made more than 7 days before the course start date the course fee will be fully refunded. When a cancellation request is made less than 7 days before a course’s start date, there is a cancellation fee, which is the cost of the course’s first session. The rest of the course fee will be refunded.
- Cancelling attendance to one session of a course: If a participant to a course cannot attend one session because of illness or other, I will not reimburse the session’s cost.
- For talks (one-off sessions): when a cancellation request is made 24 hours before the start of the talk (the day before) or earlier, the fee will be fully refunded. If the cancellation request is only made a couple of hours before or after the session’s scheduled time, I reserve the right to not issue a refund.
- Tutor cancelling a course/session/talk: I may have to cancel or reschedule a course after acceptance of a booking. In such a case, you will be notified of the changes as soon as possible, and options will be offered. When a suitable alternative is not offered or if you do not accept it, I will reimburse the cost of the cancelled session(s) in full. My liability will be limited to the value of cancelled session(s).
Instructions to join the Zoom sessions (the Zoom link/invitation) will generally be provided one week before the course start date, and one day before when it is a one-off talk. Each course will have a different Zoom link. If you have not received the link at this point, please message me.
Please do not share this Zoom link with anyone. It should only be used by the named person who has enrolled on the course. Any extra attendees who join the event will be charged at full rate retrospectively. Uninvited attendees might be removed from the session immediately.
The course materials must not be copied or distributed to any other party without prior written permission.
I do not collect user details unless this is submitted by students. I do not share that information with outside sources and ensure this is kept confidential.
It is necessary for me to collect some information such as your name and email address. I take all necessary measures to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of the information collected.
I will use your information to process your order and to ensure that you receive all the necessary information to access the online course. I retain personal data relating to payments for the minimum statutory periods required by UK law (only your name and how much you paid and when).
I will not sell, trade, transmit or otherwise pass on your personal information to a third party.
If you subscribe to or book an online course or talk, I may contact you with news about similar courses, talks, or visits that I think you might find of interest. You may opt-out of receiving such communications at any time by unsubscribing. To do so, please email me.
General Rules for Student Conduct in Online Courses

When you enter the session, please register with your first name followed by the first letter of your surname.
Do not give out any personal information online, such as your full name, phone number, home or email address. If you need to communicate with me, you can always email me.
Please be aware of your surroundings, particularly if your online activity enables you to share your video or microphone. Ensure that your back-drop is appropriate for a classroom setting (you can always blur your background in the Zoom video settings), and if there are any unexpected noises etc., please mute your microphone or stop the video as needed, until you are safely able to re-activate.
Please contact me immediately if you become aware of anything upsetting or inappropriate. You can message privately on the Zoom chat during the session, call me on 07 476 663 008, or email me.
